Our homeschool co-op meets on Mondays from 9:30 to 11:30. We begin each week together as a group with worship, a memory verse, and prayer. After our opening time, we divide into two groups for lessons: Littles (under age 5) and Bigs (ages 5 and up).
Lessons are designed around a central topic and include a related book reading followed by hands-on activities to help bring the topic to life. We always tie our lessons back to God and include a Bible verse that connects to the days topic. Moms take turns teaching both groups on a rotating schedule.
We follow an alternating weekly rhythm—Lesson Week followed by Nature Week.
On Nature Weeks, we head outside with our nature book bags (which include compasses, magnifying glasses, watercolor journals, etc.) for a nature walk and a nature lesson led by our co-op president. We love to explore God's creation around us.
After each lesson or nature walk, we gather again for free play and connection. Moms chat and kids play.
In addition to our weekly gatherings, we also plan annual field trips and holiday parties to celebrate and explore together as a community.
