Arrows: Psalm 127:3-5 says our children are like arrows in the hand of a warrior; blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them. We see the value that God places on children and the way He has called parents to steward them and grow them into spreading the good news of His gospel. We acknowledge that they were created by God for a specific purpose and at the right time, after being raised to love God, His Word, and His mission, we will send them flying from our quiver to spread the gospel to all nations.
Sparrows: although not seen as valuable by many, including the Jews, God sees them as special and part of his creation (Matthew 10:29-31; Luke 12:6-7) he points us to His creation to observe the wonders of His love.. we too should marvel at His nature and be reminded of His love while also remembering not to devalue our fellow image bearers. We marvel at God’s creativity and what He has revealed about Himself in His creation, who in turn also marvels at its Creator (Romans 1:20)
